The penultimate round of the MCE British Superbike Championship took place at Silverstone GP circuit. The Superbikes put on an amazing 2 races with the Showdown contenders fighting it out at the front for both. Hopkins pulled off victory in the first race, but it was Josh Brookes who stole the show with a superb performance to grab victory in the second.

Round 8 of the British Superbike Championship returned to Brands Hatch in Kent for the second time this season, this time to utilise the fantastic Grand Prix circuit (for most of the weekend, anyway). Friday did see only the Indy circuit used for support-class sessions and BSB testing.

Round eight of the British Superbike Championship was at Brands Hatch at the weekend and the HEL brake line riders had a very successful weekend. Once again the organisers and riders were not blessed with perfect weather conditions and the heavens opened just before the start of the first Superbike race on Saturday. This caused a Moto GP style system with riders pulling into the pits during the race to swap tyres to enable them to set a fast time for the second race grid positions on Sunday.

Round 6 of the 2011 British Superbike Championship took place at the newly redeveloped Snetterton circtuit in Norfolk. The circuit, now the second longest in the country, incorporates an exciting infield section with many technical bends, and two hairpins. The layout was new to most of the riders and proved to be very challenging. Weather conditions were hot and dry all weekend and crowd turnout was “to capacity”. With further plans to develop the area around the circuit, this stretch of tarmac could prove to become a great venue for both two and four-wheeled racing events.

Mauno Hermunen with Husqvarna SM449R was ranked fourth in Andorra Supermoto GP, valid as the third race of the World Championship. The Finnish rider finished third in the first heat, which is his best result of the day. In the second moto, while he was in the third position, he slipped, finishing sixth. In the third and final heat Mauno has recovered from eighth during the first lap to the fourth at the end.
