Yamaha Factory Racing Riders Prepare For Jerez

This weekend will see the first European round of the 2011 MotoGP Championship as the paddock sets up at Jerez for the second race of the season. Huge crowds are expected to fill the natural amphitheatre to witness the premier class riders do battle on a 4.423km circuit whose signature includes numerous quick direction changes and few hard braking points.

Well we are now four rounds into the 2010 World Superbike Championship and for one team within the paddock there has been a dramatic turn in fortune from 2009. The Sterilgarda Yamaha team who were rarely off the podium twelve months prior with the impressive YZF-R1 with crossplane crankshaft in the hands of Ben Spies started their new campaign with a host of issues which hampered the early season challenge of World Champions James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow.

Six races have now taken place in the paddock that never sleeps and its time to perform our review at Londonbikers.com of the season so far and forecast what we think will happen over the silly season with news on the possible transfers keeping you up to date with the latest information. Twelve months ago we successful predicted that Melandri would buy out the second year of his contract, Nicky Hayden would make a switch to the Factory Ducati team and that Andrea Dovizioso would take his seat at the Factory Repsol Honda team. Just a very short week after our first points of the season we arrived at Thruxton looking to make further improvements continuing for the moment to use the 08 Yamaha R1. The weather although we all agree is a very welcome change from the last few weeks, continued at Thruxton which gave 2 major things for everyone in the paddock – Huge crowds to for sponsor exposure and tyre issues at this very abrasive circuit.
