Husqvarna seems to know how important it is for kinds to have the right tool to start their riding days on as they launch two new 50cc models for youngsters – the CR 50 and SM 50. The first a mini cross model and the second a mini motard, both machines are based on the principle that if you have young riders that are hooked on to a manufacturer from the start, they’ll probably stick with it for as long as they ride.
Basically, the 2011 model years are very simple. They both feature the same engine – a 50cc single-cylinder two-stroke developing just under 12 horsepower – and chassis – CrMo frame, Marzocchi fork, Sachs shock absorber and aluminum wheels. These lasts are also the ones that make the difference between the two models.
Overall, the bikes look great with their racy plastics and decals, which is exactly what the little fellows want. Hit the jump for the official press release and specifications.

Ducati officially rolls out Monster 796, Monster Art customization program

It doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, but has just officially announced that it will soon be putting a new Monster on dealership floors in June. As you might expect from the name, the new Ducati Monster 796 will use the same air-cooled L-twin engine as the , and it will also share that model’s $9,995 price tag.
Ducati claims that its 804cc mill puts down 87 horsepower and 56 pound-feet of torque, which, when coupled with the 367-pound (claimed, of course) weight, ought to make the newest Monster a fine performer indeed. Along with a higher handlebar and more comfortable seat, Ducati has endowed the Monster 796 with a single sided swingarm, four piston Brembo brakes, an APTC slipper clutch, blackened foot rests and new five spoke wheels.
While the official Monster 796 color palette will include white, black and Ducati red – each with a trellis frame in red, along with red wheel striping – Ducati has also announced a new Monster Art program that will allow owners of the 696, 796 or 1100 to interchange tank covers, mudguards, bikini fairings and seat covers in one of ten new hues and liveries. Click on past the break for all the details.

Take a look at this video and at any other official Harley-Davidson one out there and tell me this isn’t at least as good. It shows the bike, a couple of hot babes and everybody around them going crazy of joy. Just the good old recipe, but it works every time.
