LB’s Editor Garret and I were at the MotoGP press conference for the Donington Park round when we were accosted by the publishers offering us a copy of Jorge Lorenzo’s biography hot off the press. I’m normally quite cynical when 20-somethings release their life stories, I mean they are just kids to my eyes and at best it’s a little premature surely? But the man-boy Lorenzo, who shares a garage with the great Valentino Rossi, might actually have a valid reason to counter my cynicism. Halfway through his second year in MotoGP Jorge is surely settling in to the premier league of motorbike racing, and only a clot would fail to see a potential successor to Rossi’s crown. Perhaps now is a good time to let the world know what he’s about?

Fiat Yamaha Keep Up Brilliant Qualifying Record in Donington

Valentino Rossi took pole for the second race running at Donington Park this afternoon, his fourth of the season and the 56th of his career. Jorge Lorenzo qualified third and, with four poles for him also this year, the Fiat Yamaha Team has now taken the front grid slot in eight out of the ten races. It is also the fifth consecutive race at which both riders have been on the front row.

Exciting Qualifying at Donington Brings Degraaf 4th and 6th

The weather was perfect today at Donington Park. After the heavy showers on the Friday, today it stayed dry and sunny. Danny Webb’s home race isn’t successful yet! In the qualification session the British rider qualified at the 4th row with a 14th position. The Swiss rider Randy Krummenacher had some set-up problems and couldn’t be further to the front than the 21st position at the 6th row.
