The name Jorian Ponomareff may not be all that familiar to some. In fact, we’ve never heard of him before this video, but his amazing drifting skills have made him quite a sensation and we decided it was time to learn a little something about him.

Jorian Ponomareff started his motorcycle training when he was 14 years old and got his first two-wheeler. Since then, he has become one of the best stunt drivers in the world. He became so good that he is now traveling all over the world performing his skills in shows that can only be described as amazing.

After years of training and no doubt, thousands of falls, one can perfect a skill and Ponomareff’s dedication to the craft has made him an impressive stunt driver and entertainer. Enjoy the video!

French bike builder, Lazareth, has come out with their latest creation, which not only raises eyebrows for its design, but also because of the power train it carries.

The vehicle is called the Wazuma V8F, a quad vehicle that looks the part of a trike, except that it actually has four wheels. The standard three-wheel configuration makes it confusing but upon further inspection, you’ll notice that it actually has a pair of rear tires attached closely together.

The curious design of the Wazuma V8F is one of many things that are peculiar about this vehicle. For a bike of its size, Lazareth put a lot of attention in adding some expensive parts, including the extensive use of carbon fiber that can be found all over the machine. On top of that, the Wazuma V8F also has a new set of modified 18″ MOMO wheels to go with Brembo caliper brakes, and four horizontal shock absorbers specifically designed for the vehicle.

And then here’s where it gets really interesting. The Wazuma V8F has quite a power train inside of it, one that comes courtesy of a famous Italian automaker you’re probably familiar with. Yep, inside this intriguing quad lies a 3.0-liter Ferrari V8 engine that produces in excess of 250 horsepower and mated to a BMW M3-sourced six-speed sequential gearbox.

A Ferrari engine mated with a BMW gearbox and encased in this design? Yeah, that’s what makes the Lazareth Wazuma V8F a quad like no other.

BMW is an obvious choice when it comes time to single out a manufacturer, as it offers machines at the pinnacle of performance on both two wheels and four.

And so we have the S 1000 RR up against the 2012 M5, lapping the famous Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, England. With 560 horsepower from its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and a curb weight of about 4,300 pounds, the M5 is a formidable competitor. But it’s the bike, with 193 horsepower and a dry weight of just 400 pounds, that takes the power-to-weight crown.

The bike’s advantage can be illustrated this way: 3.0 seconds versus 4.4 seconds. Those are the times it takes the S 1000 RR and M5 to hit 60 miles per hour. But that’s not the whole story. With twice the number of contact patches, the M5 ought to be able to regain plenty of time in the corners and under braking.

Throw in an extremely slippery track surface - wet with a smattering of dead leaves - and we’d expect an awfully tight race. And, despite the conditions making it a bit unfair for the two-wheeler, that’s exactly what we got. Hit the jump to watch it all play out on video. Spoiler alert: The BMW wins.

Ah, the Bonneville Salt flats. One of the last true bastions of speed left in America, where men and women take cars, trucks, motorcycles and just about anything else with wheels to the very limits of man and machine’s capabilities.

Of course, there’s no rule that the salt flats are to be used only for wheeled objects. As demonstrated in the video after the break, it’s quite possible to hit the salt using something a bit more… simple. Like, say, a snowboard. Or, in this case, a saltboard.

True, snowboards usually see use on the snow, as their name implies. And while salt is more often used to melt said snow, in this case, it acts more like heavy grit sandpaper. We bet it hurts a bit worse than snow if you happen to fall. And fall they do. Here’s hoping they managed to keep salt out of their wounds… but we doubt it.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the same group of crazys that took adult-size trikes up to speeds of 55 miles per hour down a massive hill. Apparently, utter disregard for life and limb appears to be a prerequisite to make an appearance in one of Devin Graham’s videos. Check out the group’s saltboarding heroics after the break.

Eicma is where you see all the product announcement and launches. But if you pay attention to what’s going on you can see other things that are not announced.

For example, is BMW looking at doing something with Brammo??

And is Piaggio and Royal Enfield looking at doing business in the nearby future.
