Just off the A14 Autostrada between Bologna and the Adriatic sea-side town of Rimini, just down the road from the world-famous F1 facility at Imola, lies a very unassuming town. This town, encircled by various factories, is synonymous across the world with something we use without thinking in our daily lives – ceramics. Faenza also has, hidden in the back valleys beyond the Via Emilia Ponente, a motocross track with a very long and venerable history. In 2007 it returned to the world motocross circuit, having put up its hand to help after the South African promoter had to cancel their round at relatively short notice.
